Your backyard is a decade old. It barely begins (or doesn’t start at all). And when it does, it belches fumes out so powerful, you are convinced that you are reducing your life span while personally reversing the recent 17% reduction in global greenhouse gases. Imagine if, rather than fighting a poorly-maintained 4-stroke motor, then you popped a battery in the top of your mower, finished your whole yard, then used the same battery to trim, edge, prune, and blow? All without using a drop of gas or oil.

The celebrity of this EGO Power+ lineup is, of course, the Electricity + 21″ Select Cut mower. With its multi-blade system, easy self-propel operate, and 60+ minute runtime on a single charge, it is the mower which will have you wondering why anybody even bothers to receive a brand new gas mower.

Where their mowers previously relied on just two 5.6 Ah batteries, the Electricity + 21″ Select Cut runs on a single 7.5 Ah lithium ion battery. Your runtime might be marginally reduced overall, but not needing to bother with numerous batteries is well worth the few minutes that you may lose.

Nevertheless , I haven’t yet run out the battery whilst mowing through my testing. Even with two weeks of growth on my yard, soaking wet from an early morning rain shower, there was enough power compelled to use the same battery to manicure the lawn and blow off the clippings off the driveway.

The multi-cut blade is unique among battery-powered mowers. The two blades are attached on precisely the same axis and work in tandem to give you ultra-fine fragments for bagging or mulching. It’s something you usually only see on professional gas mowers. They make quick work of whatever you throw at them and leave less of a mess on the inside of the mower deck to wash up afterwards.

The self-propelled system was reworked for the latest Power+ mower and it’s fantastic. Rather than a lever on one side which you have to grip, you will find two TouchDrive pads onto the handle of the mower. As long as you are pressing one of these, the mower goes. It is nice for when you need to take a hand off the handle. The speed lever is presently a wheel in the center of the handle. It is a whole lot easier to get and nearly impossible to change unintentionally (something which often occurred with the last configuration).

There are several other nice conveniences too. It’s possible to adjust the mower’s height with a single lever. There is a convenient position LED near the handle. And there are just two LED headlights on the front of the backyard for all those evening or early morning yard maintenance sessions.

No matter when you float, you won’t disturb the neighbors. Among my favorite things about electric mowers is they don’t generate a bone-rattling thrum if you run them. The Power+ is no different. It’s not silent, however, the whir of these blades and the whine of this self-propel motor is quiet enough I can easily hold a conversation whilst mowing. Additionally, there are no gas fumes, so you don’t end mowing up and feel like you’ve spent the last hour hanging out at a gasoline station.

When you’re done, just drop the battery on the charger that is rapid. It is going to be topped off and ready to go in half an hour or less. And do not worry about having to reinvest in batteries each season, EGO batteries are the best I’ve used. After mowing thick Florida bud every weekend this past year during the summer and fall (sometimes twice per week), the batteries for the preceding EGO Power+ mower had their full charge. They’re so superior EGO guarantees them for 3 decades.

And the best thing about having a battery-powered mower? It requires less space to put away! Since there are no fluids to leak or engine parts to destroy, you can use the built in handle on the human body to tilt it so that the mower is resting on the rear of the unit, then store it vertically.

I may not always do my due diligence when it comes to trimming and edging after I mow. However, before I call it a day, I need to at least blow the dirt and clippings off the drive. EGO’s newest 650 CFM blower makes it ridiculously simple.

This variable speed blower is easy to use, using a dial on the side that will let you lock at a speed without having to hold the activate (you can even just squeeze the trigger and use it as you normally would). The regular speed varies from 225-500 CFM, but if you’re like, well, everyone, you’ll constantly jam the turbo button to get a 650 CFM burst. It’s equal to a 180 MPH end or your fundamental Cat 5 hurricane. Obviously, not much can stand up for it.

It has a brushless motor (like all of the EGO Power+ tools) so there’s minimal vibration and surprisingly low sound compared to gas-powered blowers. Plus, there’s no fuel or oil to have to mess with. The included 5 Ah battery will last for over 90 minutes (at the lowest speed). You can also pop in almost any EGO battery (like the one out of your own mower ) to operate the unit. If you pick up just one instrument in this article, I would highly recommend this one. It may be easy, but it will make your lawn work better.
